Welcome to My Friend Cynthia Eden with a Giveaway!

I'm very excited to welcome my writing pal, Cynthia Eden, over for a visit today! She writes wonderful suspense and paranormal romances. It's a thrill to have her here, so show her a good time while I am slaving away at the day job! :-) Now, here's Cynthia!

An Angel’s Wings…

Hi, everyone! And a big thank you to the lovely Marie for having me over today.  ;)

It’s the holiday season! Folks are happy…and feeling a little frantic. It’s the time of the year to snuggle up by a fire and watch a Christmas special. At my house, I always enjoy both the funny shows (Scrooged, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation) and the shows that make me tear up (It’s a Wonderful Life).

In It’s a Wonderful life, I love it when the little girl tells her dad, “Teacher says…every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.”  During the holidays, my son now listens for bells, hoping that means that somewhere, someplace, an angel is getting wings.

An angel with wings—well, that can sure be one great thing.

Pity I’m taking those wings away.  Ahem…

Because I’ve got a new series out now—a dark paranormal series about angels who fall. And, when they fall, their lovely wings get burned away.  But it’s actually when they fall, well, it’s then that life truly begins for my angels. They start to experience human emotions and needs. They want. They crave. They lust.

They love.

And isn’t love one of the best things about the holidays?

So fall with my angels. Get tempted this holiday.  Enjoy yourself. Even sin a little.

Have yourself  a merry old holiday time.

I’d love to give one commenter ANGEL OF DARKNESS. To enter the giveaway, just tell me the holiday movie you love to watch at this time of the year. The winner will be randomly selected from all the comments that I receive. Good luck!

Happy Holidays.

LOVE THE COVER....BEAUTIFUL!! Oh...Christmas movies have this ability to make me cry...every year! My absolute favorite since I was little is "It's a Wonderful Life"....I mean...sigh....How can you not LOVE this movie. It was a Thanksgiving Tradition to watch this and bawl before dinner!! I also have a strange addiction to The Brady Christmas movie....when Mike is trapped in the building and they are are singing "O' come all ye faithful"....really....bawl my eyes out again!! But I also cried at Elf...so my bawling meter is a little off!! XOXO Good Luck with the new Release, Cynthia!!

Sounds like a terrific book!

I love Sound of Music... I can sing along with it all day... even though I really can't sing....

I know it's not a real x'mas movie but for some reason it's always on around x'mas and easter in our area...

I think your books, Cynthia, were my first venture into paranormal! This new series sounds intriguing.
I still look forward to all the classic holiday shows for kids, although my boys are beginning to roll their eyes at my invitation to watch with me. So, it's become something of a tradition with my guys to see how many times each holiday season we can all watch A Christmas Story together!
" I want an official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle! "

Natl Lampoons Christmas Vacation! I laugh every single time I watch it.

Hope, that's our family favorite too. We have a special night devoted to it every year and we laugh like crazy, as if we haven't seen it a million times. Our season isn't complete without our annual viewing of Christmas Vacation.

Hello Cynthia the Christmas movie of choice at my house has to be Christmas Vacation. The squirrel jumping out of the tree is priceless.

My favorite would be a Christmas Carol. Must be am old back and white version. This was my gran's christmas eve tradition and it remains mine.

I love to watch fairytales this time of the year. Cliche and childish, yeah I know, but well, there's a reason why it's cliche!^^" And my favourite fairytale is The Little Mermaid.:D:D Haha, ok I should cut on the little girl attitude. Anyway, I love ANGEL OF DARKNESS'S cover! It kinda reminds me of Phantom of the Opera... Must be the cape. And the book sounds really intriguing!

I love to watch older holiday movies during this time of year...always watch "Meet Me in St. Louis" with Judy Garland and "Shop Around the Corner" with Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullivan and "Christmas in Connecticut" with Barbara Stanwyck and of course my all time favorite is
"A Christmas Story", which isn't quite the same kind of classic but I love it just the same!

Hi, krisgils! So glad you like the sound of the series--thank you!

Thank you, May! Oh, I enjoy tht one, too! And I can't sing, either. :)

Oh, great, Kara!! I am so happy you ventured into the paranormal!! This is going to sound crazy (it is crazy!), but I've never watched A Christmas Story all the way through! I will try to correct that situation this year.

Love that one, Hope! I laugh until I cry!

Cynthia Eden said...

Marie, I don't think Christmas can be complete without that one, too. It just makes me so happy!

LOL, Lorie, that scene is my favorite. I love it when the scream of "SQUIRREL!" goes out!

Cynthia Eden said...

Patricia, I tear up every time Tiny Tim gives his final line.

Cynthia Eden said...

CYP, have you been watching Once Upon a Time? I'm finding myself quite addicted to that show.
And I'm glad you like the cover--thank you!

Those are great classics, Maria!! Thank you for listing them--and giving me something to watch!

Thanks for coming over, Caridad! And I love those cute muppets, too!

Truly, I would love for all angels to keep their wings, but I understand your reasoning. I would like to say something about wings...other authors need to get them right. Simple laws of physics demand an incredible wingspan to get these heavenly bodies airborne. That's where most authors trip up and our angels becomes a bit unbelievable. Think birds. As heavy as humanoids are, they needsAT LEAST a ten-foot wing. Two of them. That's a plus-20-ft wingspan. Then our angel will be believable. So goes my humble opinion. What do you think?

I would have to say Christmas Vacation. Gotta love the Griswolds!! Thanks for the giveaway!!

A beautiful cover for what I know will be a fantastic new series for you Cynthia!

I don't think I have a favorite holiday movie -- I enjoy them all and if I'm cuddled up by a warm fire with those I love, any movie that's playing is fine by me. My grandkids love the Chipmunks, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, along with Mr. Grinch Stole Christmas!!

Have a wonderful holiday!

The Grinch ( the movie ) I love that one oh and we are a real big fan of the polar express cause it completely holds my kids attention :)

I fell in love with the rest of your books, so I'm really looking forward to reading this series!

I love this time of year-there's so many good movies out there:) It's hard to pick a favorite Christmas movie, but I'd say it's a tie between "A Charlie Brown Christmas," & "Rudolph." And I'll add "The Christmas Cottage" to the list, just because I end up bawling my head off from it every year<3

Cynthia Eden said...

Hi, Kathleen! Don't worry...just because an angel loses his wings, it doesn't he can't earn them back. :) I also do think that the wingspan needs to be large. You're right--we're not talking about some weak, scrawny being--we're talking about a powerful angel, and by necessity, the wings would need to be powerful, too.

Kandj, I wish I had a t-shirt that said that very thing. I do love those Griswolds!

Cynthia Eden said...

Thank you, oklanannie! And I'm so glad you listed the Chipmunks--that is a huge favorite at our house, too. Enjoy your time cuddled up by hte fire.

Jennifer, the Polar Express keeps my son spellbound, too, so I totally understand!

Cynthia Eden said...

Thank you, Arianne! That is such a kind thing to say! :) And I watched A Charlie Brown Christmas last night. It just wouldn't be Christmas without that one!

Hi, Cynthia!
Cannot WAIT to read Angel of Darkness! It's sitting on my bedside table, taunting me the past few nights when I've fallen into bed exhausted. This weekend for sure! And I know it'll be well worth the wait!

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus is Coming to Town are two of my favorites. They were created before CGI and at the time were the coolest looking programs we ( kids) had ever seen! Aahhh...childhood memories are wonderful.

I read Angel of Darkness and it is amazing! What wonderful characters!

Happy Holidays! Happy Writing!
